“After the birth of my first child, I left the hospital feeling defeated, anxious, and impaired by pain. Several months and a reconstructive surgery later, I finally had the emotional space to process my labor and delivery experience. Being underprepared and uneducated on my rights and choices during labor and delivery, I felt robbed of having a natural or positive experience. For my next pregnancy, I vowed to myself I would do better. I would research and learn how to advocate for my baby and my body. I am forever grateful that I took the initiative and reached out to Lobke. She gave me the tools and knowledge to gain confidence throughout my pregnancy journey. Lobke’s insight, compassion, and calming presence was exactly the support I needed. The birth of my second child was night and day compared to the first. I felt empowered and respected in the labor and delivery room - an active participant of the team. Lobke not only helped me advocate for my wants and needs, but also created a safe and positive space for the arrival of my baby. Thank you, Lobke, for going above and beyond! "

“Lobke is an OUTSTANDING doula. She is up there with the BEST!! I was her first live birth experience and she came to us with so much knowledge and expertise. My birth plan was supposed to be a home birth, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it ended up being in the hospital. Lobke was there for me every step of the way. She checked in with me daily when I sat in the hospital for 2 weeks before giving birth. She was so easy to talk to and it felt like I had already known her. She helped me mentally to have her support and guidance, daily. When my spontaneous labor began in the middle of the night. Lobke was there for me right away and spent over 13 hours with me in the hospital. I don’t think she left my side once during that entire time. She was very compassionate and helped me tremendously with staying in control and pushing through each contraction. She knew the appropriate techniques from pressure points, breathing techniques and changing positions etc….
This was my second time giving birth and she was better than my previous doula who had years of experience if that tells you anything. I was so proud of how calm and in control I stayed until 9 cm with Lobke’s help! My natural birth with no interventions didn’t go completely as planned, but with each hurdle she helped navigate me through it and helped me overcome my fears. She was my advocate through it all and helped the medical staff when needed. Not only is a doula a must for any birth story for the mother, it is also much needed for the spouse. My husband has always appreciated and been very thankful for having a doula in the room. She helped alleviate his fears and guided my spouse on what to do next. We could not recommend her more. THANK YOU, LOBKE!!!!!”

“At 30+ weeks pregnant, hormones can sometimes take over everything - including my joint stability. I’ve been wearing an SI belt during higher level of activity but it just wasn’t doing the trick in keeping my pain levels down with all of this extra weight I’ve been carrying. After getting tapped and treated, I had 3 of nearly pain free days where I was able to do my regular work out, take our toddler to Kings Island, and feel like I could keep up with her for the first time in a while! ”
